Came in on a busy Saturday morning and sat at the bar as a party of 2. The bartender was amazing and pulling a lot of weight by herself! We had two diet cokes, a Cesar salad fries, and a burger. Everything was delicious!

A little expensive, but some decent vegetarian options. The Mac and cheese was the hit for me. avocado sandwich had questionable veggies that were borderline past being ok to eat. Super brown Avocado for example. Fries were nothing special but fine. This place borders the vibe of a chain, but not in a bad way. Parking can be tough as the lot is small for the restaurant. Overall go there with your non vegetarian friends as a good compromise, but maybe not worth seeking out

We returned to SR on the last night of stay in Alaska. So glad that we did. Sarah made the experience memorable. Five of us ordered Old Fashioneds. Sarah suggested we let the bartender go wild with various bitters, which was a taste treat. That allowed us to zero in on a favorite for a second round. The bartender even came to our table to meet the group who entrusted him with creating unique flavors. Of the five entrees, all were delicious. The halibut sandwich was superb. Shrimp and grits and the jambalaya are both true comfort food loaded with flavor. If you can find a little room for dessert, get the peanut butter pie. It's beyond decadent. And one piece will satisfy at least four people. As was the case in our first visit, great service, good food and just a delightful dining atmosphere and experience. Cheers!

Visited Spenard Roadhouse with my husband for brunch this past Sunday. We just moved back to Alaska with our 3 little ones, but had a morning to ourselves as we finished unpacking/moving into our house while they were with a family friend, so we decided to treat ourself to an outing. The veggie Benedict did not disappoint, and the ghost pepper Bloody Mary was probably one of if not THE best I've ever had. I love a nice kick, and that bloody really did it for me. Also, the house pickled green bean garnish was delish!! Hubby got some sort of avocado sandwich that he killed in what seemed like 3 bites! This was probably our favorite spot we've had the pleasure of visiting since we moved back. We will definitely be bringing the kids by for some more brunch or dinner sometime soon! Thanks, Spenard Roadhouse!!!

Another popular restaurant in the greater Anchorage area that was filled to the brim with locals. Their whiskey wall was extremely impressive. Food wise the highlights were the shrimp and grits, the monthly bacon, the turkey Reuben, and the superior highlight is their tator tots. They were cooked and seasoned to perfection. I had the carnitas tacos, and they were ok, a little salty for me, but I was still able to eat them. I seriously would come back here just for the tots.

The Bernard roadhouse in Anchorage is a local classic restaurant. That is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it. Truth be told I rated the three stars out of five based on my hard food judging that restaurants need to pass. I was told that I needed to get the bacon, jam burger and of course because I always do what the locals say and so you should, I got that burger and all in all it was OK. I personally did not like how there wasn't bacon strips or large pieces of bacon it was a bacon type of sauce mix with another sauce on the burger. It made some of the burger soggy, which I did not care for. However, this may just be for this entrée. It may be a few others, overall in the vast amount of entrées that I saw all of them looked great. I also tried the jambalaya and was extremely impressed with the spicy sauce. It was cooked and prepared. They have a rotating IPA and IPA hazy know what you get but that's OK for some adventure. I was glad that they also had a Stout and other options on the menu as well. The menu was average price. One of the best acts about this restaurant is the atmosphere. It's a great place to bring friends kick back and relax. I was really impressed by the local decor that having a cabin type feel to it. The bar set up was very attractive as well. All in all this is a place that I would recommend for anyone to try out in Anchorage..

Highly recommend this restaurant! Food always comes out hot, servers are wonderful, and the food is amazing. I normally always order the spicy green curry but it had no kick to it. I still really enjoyed the flavor. But it also seemed like they skimped on the curry sauce. We loved the calamari. And my boyfriend enjoyed his chicken sandwich.

So much quality and flavor with each dish. My kids said 10/10 for their food-- includes starter, entree, drink, and dessert for $9! I especially liked the chicken tenders breading (yes i ate off of my kids' plates). My wild mushroom ravioli was super tasty.. each bite was perfection and nothing was leftover. Awesome and all around selection of food on the menu. Pleasantly surprised! Also, that bar! Too bad the Bacon of the Month was all out. Wanted to see what the hype was all about, I guess I'll be coming back! Happy to see that through the month of November there's a 10% discount for all service members and their families! Loove it.
